Pam Hoffman
MA, MPH (Pre-licensed LPCC track therapist)
Pam is a pre-licensed mental health therapist who specializes in the areas of play therapy and parent/caregiver coaching. She provides both creative activity-based and conventional ‘talk therapy’ services to children, adolescents, and adults. Forming a secure and trusting relationship with her clients is of primary importance to Pam, as is developing her clients’ awarenesses of their strengths, needs, and values as she supports their unique healing journeys. Pam’s theoretical foundation is in child-centered/person-centered play therapy philosophies with an appreciation for the stages of human development. While adults can typically verbalize their needs, play is the language of children and often how they communicate their needs, grow in self-awareness, and experience healing. Pam’s background in public health keeps her grounded in the notions of prevention and holistic care, and she is always considering healthy habits that clients can cultivate now to help prevent problems further down the road. Other important psychological theories that influence her practice include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Attachment Theory. She is supervised by Adam Gorsetman, LPCC and sees clients at the Plymouth office.
