Dr. Alexander is a pediatric neuropsychologist who specializes in neuropsychological evaluations and individualized treatment recommendations of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults with a range of medical, neurodevelopmental, and neuropsychiatric conditions. Her approach to neuropsychology is to integrate knowledge from neuropsychological testing with data from educational and medical records to quantify functional deficits in the context of the central nervous system (i.e., brain) using a developmental framework. More specifically, Dr. Alexander has developed particular interest in early childhood neurodevelopmental evaluations for children with complex medical (e.g., prematurity, early childhood cancers, congenital heart problems, genetic disorders, lysosomal storage diseases) and/or social histories (e.g., international adoption), as well as acquired neurological dysfunction (e.g., brain injury, late effects of cancer treatments, prenatal exposure to toxic substances), and post-infectious encephalopathies. She is also interested in the impact of adverse childhood experiences on neurodevelopment. Dr. Alexander is a member of the International Neuropsychological Society, National Academy of Neuropsychology, the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology, and American Academy of Pediatric Neuropsychology. Dr. Alexander sees clients at the Plymouth office.
